From the Concrete to the Abstract – this is one cardinal principle of education. Before children can understand a thing, they need experience: seeing, touching, hearing, tasting, smelling, choosing, arranging, putting things together and taking things apart. The hands, the heart and the head are all integrated.

Children need a variety of experiences with different materials before they gain insights about science concepts. This lecture will show some possibilities of doing creative science using low-cost materials in the classroom.
