The Practice of Development

Learn the hows’ and whats’ of programme planning and designing

What is the social reality of the problem? How do we locate and frame the problem? Who within the community is affected? What is the differential impact of a problem on the different constituencies of the community? What would be a suitable approach to address the problem? How do we design a development intervention? A development practitioner must engage with such questions while creating enabling social conditions leading to individual and collective well-being.

The course is designed to help you to engage with these questions. It will help you develop the capability to understand a specific development issue through primary and secondary data, engagement with key stakeholders, case studies, and designing an intervention plan to address the issue. It will help you to appreciate the process of developing an action plan using the methods and frameworks for programme planning and designing.
