Skills for Development Practice

Skills to work in organisations and understand how development ideas are put into practice.

In this course, we equip you with a basket of broad-based and specific skills to work in organisations and understand how development ideas are put into practice. Development practices work around themes (health, nutrition, livelihood), managerial aspects (like leadership building and impact assessments), communication (in the public sphere across electronics and print) and research initiatives (for the making of policies).

You will grow familiar in each or all of these domains and learn how to work with individuals and communities in rural or urban settings. The course will focus on legal forms, governance and organisational practices, policy and programmes, organisational documentation and project management. We end with a focus on the importance of interpersonal skills ranging from facilitation, teamwork, meetings and communication.
