Qualitative Research Inquiry in Development Practice

Training in qualitative research and analysis to enhance skills and confidence to produce and analyse qualitative evidence.

Qualitative research is attentive to how people, contexts, culture, power and language inform everyday development actions and change. It has the potential to contribute to a reflexive and grounded development practice. But it is important to note that it is a deeply relevant critical intervention and requires training as a method.

In this course, we help you expand your understanding of qualitative research as a tool in order for you to bring this into your practice in different organisational settings and addressing social problems. We train you to execute and make critically informed decisions about applying qualitative methods of interviewing, content analysis, and visual methods of photo-voice, in the context of the principles of qualitative research inquiry.
