This course will introduce students to conducting social and environmental research using qualitative forms of research and enquiry. The students will learn about the steps in qualitative research as well as the ethical aspects to consider while doing the research. They will learn different kinds of research methods such as interviews, citizen science, focus group discussions and participant observation as well as methodologies such as oral history and ethnographic research. They will also learn details of how to code and analyse qualitative data.
