Financial and Budget Analysis for Public Policy

The fundamentals of finances for public policy and governance. 

This course covers the fundamentals of financial accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis and government budgeting that are important to an understanding of public policy and governance. You will grow familiar with the statutory frameworks for profit and non-governmental and not-for-profit entities and learn to analyse analytical information for accountability and transparency. Learn of the organisational and legal architecture underlying public finance processes such as taxation, redistribution mechanisms, regulation and administration. The course ends with a look at contemporary budgeting and reforms and issues with current practices in the context of India.
