Introduction to Ecology

A study of the abundance and distribution of organisms.

Ecology studies how physical, chemical and biological features influence the interactions between organisms. As a field of study, it deals with multiple levels of hierarchy: organism, population and community. It studies organismal interactions using various tools: from binoculars to microscopes to mathematical and statistical modelling. You will look at biological problems and explain the ecological processes at work, test ecological theories using models, and create teaching materials and lesson plans in ecology.
