This is an introductory course in chemistry for students of physics. We study the traditional topics from general chemistry from a molecular perspective to introduce the foundations of chemistry. With this course, you will learn how to relate properties of different compounds to molecular models and understand simple rules to predict their solubility in various solvents. You will identify elements in the periodic table in terms of the variation of their properties in a periodic manner depending on the increase in atomic number. You will learn to identify enthalpy changes or different forms of energy transfer between physical and chemical systems. These concepts will help you recognise the chemical processes and the different class of materials that you encounter in everyday life.
