Azim Premji University, Bhopal started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.

We are expanding our programme offerings and are inviting applications for various operational roles at the University. We will offer members an enriching and fulfilling institution building experience with opportunities for setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building and participation in various institutional bodies.

As a Sports Coordinator, you will help manage and create a culture of sports and fitness on campus. This will involve engaging with all stakeholders in this space and working on different aspects of the sports programme.

Responsibilities:

• Promote Physical Fitness and Well-being – Develop and offer fitness programs, including gym facilities, classes, and personalised training plans, to encourage students to lead active and healthy lifestyles.
• Foster Athletic Excellence and Competition – Provide specialised training, coaching, and resources to develop student-athletes’ skills and capabilities in their respective sports.
• Build a Strong Sports Community and Spirit – Create opportunities for students and members to support university sports teams by attending games and events. Encourage the formation of sports clubs and student organisations focussed on specific sports or recreational activities. Plan and facilitate regular intra and inter clubs practice sessions and competitions.
• Sports & Fitness Committee (SFC) – Ideate, plan and execute SFC processes and operations.
• Sports coordinators — Assist in forming larger sports coordinator groups. The need will be to identify, train, and guide sports coordinators for each sport.
• Leagues – Work with SFC and sports coordinators to conduct regular league matches on campus.
• Workshops and weekly sessions – Find external facilitators who will assist to plan and conduct sessions/​workshops, ensuring maximum participation from the students.
• Sports operations – To be involved in setting up the sports inventory and a system to ensure smooth operation of all the leagues, sessions and workshops.
• Facilitate the Registrar’s office in managing and running the indoor and outdoor play facilities.
• Events/​fests – Collaborate with SFC to plan special events, tournaments, and sports fests.
