ಅಣ್ಣಾವ್ರು, ಅಣ್ಣಾವ್ರೆ! Annavaru, Annavare!
Celebrating Dr Rajkumar’s legacy with his music and words

About the event
Some icons don’t fade with time. They settle into everyday life — in a song that plays somewhere in the background, in a line that returns without warning, in a voice that feels both distant and deeply familiar.
Dr Rajkumar remains one such presence.
For many, he is not just a figure from cinema, but a voice that has travelled across years — carried through homes, streets, and personal memories. Alongside this voice is a life that continues to be spoken of, often with reverence, but not always encountered in its detail.
Annavara Habba brings these two together over the course of the first 90 minutes of the programme.
The evening unfolds through a seamless movement between live renditions of Rajkumar’s songs and readings from Kathanayakana Kathe. Music and text sit alongside each other, allowing the audience to experience both the emotional world of his voice and glimpses of the life that shaped it.
The evening will also include the launch of Noorakke Nooru Karnataka’s two-part episode on Rajkumar by Jayanth Kaikini.
