The study of philosophical and constitutional foundations of law is central to the LLM programme at Azim Premji University. This elective supplements such core courses by foregrounding the lived experiences of the law and shifting the focus away from legal rationality. Consequently, it relies on the assumption that any serious attempt to understand and engage with the law requires an appreciation of the ways through which it is produced, disseminated and (most importantly) experienced.
