Tabassum is a part of the Admissions Outreach team at the University.

She has over six years of experience working across sectors like Event Management, Tourism, and the Social sector. She started her career in 2016 with an event management company called TalkConcepts and Purple Patch, Indore. 

She was also part of the Madhya Pradesh (MP) Tourism Department and worked for Adventure, Water sports and District Tourism Promotion Council, in 2018, where she contributed to policy and destination development for Raisen, Rajgarh and Vidisha districts. 

She has also contributed to the outreach of Madhya Pradesh Institute of Hospitality Travel & Tourism Studies (MPIHTTS), Bhopal.

Prior to joining Azim Premji University, she was associated with Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) as a Project Manager for Holistic Rural Development. There she worked for Korku, Barela, and Bhilala tribal communities for three years in different verticals like organic agriculture, natural resource management, education, health and sanitation, Self- Help Groups (SHGs), animal husbandry livelihood, and enterprise development.

She has also promoted two Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) based in Burhanpur district, Madhya Pradesh for organic agriculture and animal husbandry. 

She established a women’s enterprise called Jagrati Javik Unit which produces and sells organic manure and also trains other farmers in organic farming. 

She has also led various projects funded by different donors like Philanthropy, Azim Premji Foundation; Department for International Development (DFID) which is now Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO); Transform Rural India (TRI); Carrefour; Laudes Foundation; HDFC Bank Parivartan; along with various other donors during the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of healthcare and relief work. 

She has a BTech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from Bansal College of Technology, Indore. She did her MBA in Advertising and Public Relations from International Institute of Professional Studies (IIPS), Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore.
