She has completed her PhD (20102016) from Department of Film Studies and Visual Culture, EFL University, Hyderabad. Her PhD thesis is titled Imaging Childhood: Locating the Emergence of Modern Gujarati Child in the Print Culture of Early Twentieth Century Colonial Gujarat’. She has explored and examined the pictorial reproductions that formed a major part of printed texts for children in mainly Gujarati periodicals and textbooks from early 20th century to analyse questions of pictorial representations of/for the modern Gujarati child. Her exploration found that the representations of/for the modern Gujarati child in instructive and materials of leisure held echoes of sociopolitical movements of the time, such as nationalism, revivalism and national education.
