Field Practice Coordinator role for Masters in Public Health and Masters in Education Programmes

We invite applications for the role of Field Practice Coordinator for the Master of Public Health and Masters in Education programmes for our Bhopal campus.

Our programmes have substantial field practice engagement across all the semesters, as an integral part of the curriculum. The Coordinator for Field Practice has to work closely with the faculty members, students and field organizations to ensure effective implementation of the practice components.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning of all field components of the programmes:
    • Help select suitable field organisations for the field practice components of the programmes
    • Plan field experiences related to school education or public health (e.g. at schools and Anganwadis, NGOs, primary health centres, government bodies, and others)
    • Coordinate and organise consultative workshops with relevant organisations to share program requirements, shared expectations, and facilitation of processes
  • Coordinating logistics and coordination of all the five field components of the program which entails coordinating with organizations, students, and faculty. It would involve the following:
    • Coordinate with relevant teams in the university for calendaring, booking of class- rooms, and other logistics including Internal Research Board (IRB) approvals and communications
    • Periodic orientation to students on reiterating the learning objectives, expectations from organizations, field practice ethics etc.
    • Facilitation of students’ learning in the field by visiting field sites and providing required support (or guide them to concerned team for the support)
    • Liaison closely with field organisations and University (faculty and students) to ensure smooth field placement and practice experience for students for an extended duration
    • Coordinate with faculty for timely sharing of timelines, relevant documents and information and receiving grades and feedback on students’ work
    • Coordinate with students for timely submission of all assignments of the field practice components
    • Handle all communications with students and organizations
    • Record-keeping and coordination of financial aspects, especially student financial aid
    • Checking of expense bills, validating and coordinating settlement of advances paid to students
  • Develop a conceptual understanding of the thought processes behind the field practice components
  • Identify relevant organizations who could be potential partners and explore possible ways of collaboration
  • Relationship building and networking with our partners
  • Relevant degree in Education, Social Sciences (including social work), Sociology, Anthropology, or Development
  • Understanding of Education and Public Health as a domain of study and practice
  • 2 – 3 years of experience of working directly with or collaborating with grassroots organisations broadly working in the development sector 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-term collaborative relationships, preferably in institutional settings
  • Knowledge of Excel is required
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory
