Faculty in Arts Education & Community Arts Practices
We invite applications for faculty positions in Arts Education and Community Arts Practices
Arts Education and Community Arts Practices contribute to human development and well-being. We offer Arts programmes that create critical and reflective practitioners with an understanding of the social impact of the arts in education, community development, and health.
As a faculty of Arts Education courses you will be enabling students to:
- Integrate art across the curriculum in schools and teach art in classrooms
- Write curricula for edtech companies
- Develop curriculum for central and state boards
- Make contributions to education policy
As a faculty of Community Arts Practices courses you will be enabling students to:
- Creatively engage with community development and/or interface between craft communities and industry.
- Work with governmental and non-governmental organisations in the areas of arts and crafts facilitation, promotion, exhibition, and marketing
- Work as capacity builders for artists’ cooperatives
We are interested in candidates who have worked on one or more of the following:
- Arts Education initiatives in classrooms, schools, and communities
- Community Development through the arts
- Arts-based Participatory Action Research
- Programme/Project Management
- Arts in Health or Creative Arts Therapies
- Post-graduate degree in an Arts discipline (Craft, Visual Arts, or Performing Arts), Education, and/or related field
- Experience in managing organisations, programmes, and/or projects
- Experience in studying and documenting Arts Education and/or Community Arts practices
- Fluent in the academic discourse of one or more Arts discipline
