Advanced Microeconomic Theory

How do microeconomic models work?

In this course, you will build on your understanding of social coordination and approaches that model and analyse it in a more formal and rigorous way. You will learn how widely utilised microeconomic models work, engage with models of strategic interactions, information asymmetry and market power. We will learn how to apply these models to different situations and map assumptions from theory to practice evaluating results. All models are introduced in a rigorous and formal manner to enable students to engage with extensions and modifications of these models that they may encounter as they continue their studies in economics.
