ACADEMIC ASSOCIATE – Mathematics

Invitation for application for the position of Academic Associate, Mathematics.
Location: Azim Premji University, Bangalore

Azim Premji University was established in 2010 by the Azim Premji Foundation. The University supports Education and related fields of human development through its programmes of study. The University offers a liberal undergraduate degree in the Sciences, Economics and Humanities and post-graduate degrees in the fields of Education, Development, Public Policy, Economics and Law and Development.

We invite applications from candidates to join the mathematics group at the School of Arts and Sciences as an Academic Associate.

An Academic Associate (AA) will contribute to the mathematics programme through active student support and tutorial assistance, student mentoring and preparation of course material. Our student cohorts are diverse and the AA will have a significant role in ensuring that learning outcomes are achieved for all students; this will involve observing classes and providing feedback to the faculty on pedagogy and course structure, attending seminars, and assisting students in projects and other activities.

The associate will also help build the culture of the undergraduate mathematics programme through mentoring students, observing classes and providing feedback. This is a two-year full-time position. Candidates with an interest in teaching a socially and academically diverse cohort of students, as well as research interests in mathematics are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in mathematics or statistics
