Varsha Aithala
Areas of expertise and specific interests in her disciplinary research area

Extensive experience in corporate and commercial legal practice. Her research interests include contract law, corporate law, the practice of legal education and the legal profession.


Varsha Aithala is a research fellow at Azim Premji University, Bangalore, where she will be offering courses on private law. Most recently, she worked as a senior associate at the Bangalore office of a national law firm, Samvad Partners where she actively led a team of associates in various legal due diligence matters, share purchase, secondary sale and equity investment transactions. She has about ten years of extensive experience in corporate and commercial laws and specialises in international and domestic private equity and venture capital investment transactions.

She enrolled as an advocate on the rolls of the bar council of Maharashtra and Goa in 2007 and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2010.

She obtained a master of corporate law (MCL) degree from the University of Cambridge in 2017 and a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad in 2007. She completed the first module of the executive programme for company secretaries from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India in 2013.

She is an avid traveller and aims to write an inspiring travelogue in the future.
