Meghana Rao

Meghana Rao has a M.A. and PhD in Socio-legal Studies from University of Toronto and an M.A. in Communication from University of Hyderabad. She has previously taught in University of Toronto and University of Hyderabad. Her research interests lie at the intersection of law and society studies, anthropology of medicine and gender/sexuality studies. In her doctoral work, she studied regulation of suicide in India, with a specific focus on hijra suicides in Bangalore.
