Beena is a faculty member at the School of Arts and Sciences, and has been with associated with Azim Premji
University since 2016. Prior to joining APU, she had worked as Assistant Professor and Head of the
Department of postgraduate biosciences program in one of the private colleges in Bangalore for 8 and a half
years. Her main expertise is in the area of plant biotechnology for agricultural, industrial and plant
conservation applications. Beena has also worked on inducing stress tolerance in plants by using endophytic
fungus at Gandhi Krishi Vidhya Kendra (GKVK), Bangalore, as a part of her Summer Research Fellowship
Program sponsored by Indian Academy of Sciences.
