Assessment and Accreditation

The Institute of Assessment and Accreditation has a dedicated team working in the area of Assessment and Accreditation.

The purpose is to:

  • Promote excellence in education by evolving and promoting the use of assessment / accreditation standards for educational institutions and systems
  • Develop assessment understanding and capability among education professionals
  • Propagate a culture of reflection, continuous improvement and accountability
  • Contribute to the demand for quality education through the use of accreditation

Key projects currently underway include:

  • Board Exam Study: A study on the class 10 school leaving examinations across selected states and Boards in the country. The study will focus on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Boards of examination in a few other states. This study is meant to understand the structure and processes that inform the functioning of these identified boards along with an analysis of board exam question papers and evaluation processes in these states.
  • Teacher Eligibility Test: The study aims to analyse the TET syllabus and question papers across states and outline specific recommendations and processes for test development. The analysis will include syllabi and question papers from selected states and the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • Working along with NEUPA on the NPSSE (National Programme for School Standards and Evaulation) program of MHRD
  • Development of certificate courses in the area of assessment
  • Development of assessment frameworks for the “Non Cognitive” domain
