Student life at Azim Premji University is filled with exciting and enriching events all through the year. The high point of students’ calendar is undoubtedly ‘ Unmukt’, the annual festival held usually in February. Unmukt gives all students a platform to showcase their special talent and indulge in their extracurricular interests. It brings students from diverse backgrounds together in a spirit of celebration. Guest lectures, workshops, music, dance, drama, foodstalls….the festival has it all!

    It was in Gudalur, an amazing landscape in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu, that I did my two week field immersion. The exposure to the vast share of unseen indigenous knowledge and culture of the Adivasi community in Gudalur was an exciting experience.
